Flutter about

I spotted this vintage dress in an op shop the other day and the print couldn't have been more me. I love the whimsical bird print and that it looks like it has been painted. With the high collar and sensible length I'm looking forward to wearing it pumped up with some high high heels and a waist belt :)

Catching my breath + outfit post

Catching my breath after an epic week, entailing all of the following..

- Attendance at a party which turned out to be a surprise elvis wedding

- Some killer second hand shopping
- A spontaneous move to strip back, sand and varnish our kitchen floors (see you lino.. wasn't nice knowing you)
- Spending way too much time at bunnings (as a result of the above)
- Two work trips incorporating four plane trips in two days.

A few pics from the week.. and since it's been a while I have done an outfit post - figured it was long overdue. :-)

Loved watching the clouds from the plane

And relished the peace and quiet to read the latest Marie Claire

Anyone else ever noticed how cool the lights are at Bunnings?

Dogs got in on the sanding *fun* and donned our knee pads as dog PPE

Funny story

Last weekend we went out to try a new cafe for breakfast Saturday morning and found ourselves lusting after a neighbouring timber table. We have been keeping an eye out for a new timber table for our deck for a while now and this one looked perfect. When we looked around we noticed that everything in the restaurant seemed to have price tags and be for sale. We asked about the table and yes, it was too. We decided to think about it a little more as.. well, it would have been the most expensive breakfast we have ever had! The next day we had decided that we couldn't imagine not having the table and headed to the cafe to ask to buy it. When we arrived there were customers at either end eating off it and since we wanted to see if it would fit in our car we asked if we could measure it. Putting a tape measure at the end, Mr Bejewelled measured while people were enjoying their breakfast! One guy said.. "um, can you at least wait until we've finished our breakfast before you buy the table?!" So funny. The owners ended up delivering it for us on Monday. And that is the story of our new table!

Weekend-In

It's been great this weekend. Decided to take an extra long one and make the most of the Australia Day public holiday. The brief burst of sunshine for Australia Day couldn't have been better planned!
And the rainy weather for the rest of the weekend has actually made us want to stay in, which, after quite a few busy weekends in a row, has felt just blissful. It has also provided the opportunity to appreciate some recent home purchases and reworks completed over the last few weeks.. Didn't realise this til now but it seems we have kind of been on a home improvement/refresh binge.. looking back, not quite sure how we have fit everything in!

Grey skies... with no indications of change for at least the next week..

Keeping spirits high

Last week I had some surgery and have been feeling miserable staying at home. Not to mention guilty that I have missed more work than I thought I would. My days are a haze of painkiller dozes and bad daytime tv...

Though here are some of the parts I have been trying to make the most of, while (pretty much) house bound.

Pink paddy cake from a local bakery on pretty china

A sweet 70's beach chair found recently during roadside collection - hubby thinks it is hideous but wasn't going to let that stop me!

Beachy new Havaianas.. very impressed I was that I ordered these from General Pants online one morning and had them at my door the same time the next day! (and free postage I might add) PS: falling into online shopping is easy while house bound...

Dogs dropping the act that they don't like each other!
